This
strange looking image is actually a half-hour time exposure
of the northern polar regions of the sky. The long streak through
the photo is a Quadrantid meteor which passed overhead during
the exposure.
THE
MILKY WAY:
This
7.5 minute exposure shows a Quadrantid passing from right to
left underneath Polaris and through Cassiopeia on into Andromeda.
The bright and dark patchy glow from top to bottom centre is
the band of the Milky Way galaxy.
