Armagh Observatory, 2 November 2009: Armagh Observatory reports that October was milder and slightly wetter and duller than average.
The mean monthly temperature was 11.6 degrees Celsius, that is, about 1.4 degrees milder than normal. There were four days with grass frost.
The total number of hours of sunshine was 68.6, that is, about one-sixth less than average.
Rainfall amounted to 84.1 mm, marginally above average for October.
