Donaghmore round tower at twilight

Donaghmore Round Tower, near Navan, Co. Meath, is located not far from the Boyne River. The tower in the 18th century had a conical top, with four windows underneath, near the top of the tower. A local landowner made alterations in 1841, presumably removing the cone-shaped top and blocking up any openings. A cross fragment in the National Museum is probably from Donaghmore.
