Newgrange and Mound B emerge from the fog at twilight around winter solstice 2016.
Sometimes as a landscape and monument photographer, you have to visit a location several times, and spend many hours there, before you get that "WOW" shot! The location here is on the south side of the Boyne river and canal opposite Newgrange, and the large satellite mound known as Mound B (also known as The Dagda's Mound). As I stood there, after sunset and with night coming on, the twilight deepened and all of a sudden a mist descended on the landscape of Brú na Bóinne. It was ethereal!
I have captured several versions of this image, with mist/fog, at different times of the year. I love going back there.
