Refund policy
1. Physical products
This section applies to physical products purchased through the Mythical Ireland website, including books, calendars, photographic prints, clothing, gifts and other merchandise.
Change-of-mind returns
For eligible physical products purchased online, you may notify us that you wish to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order.
After notifying us, you must return the product without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the date on which you told us that you wished to cancel.
To request a return, email mythicalireland@gmail.com before sending the item. Please include:
- your name;
- your order number;
- the product you wish to return;
- and the reason for the return, where you are willing to provide one.
You do not have to give a reason when exercising an applicable statutory cancellation right.
Returns should be sent only after receiving return instructions from Mythical Ireland.
Return address
Unless otherwise instructed, approved physical-product returns should be sent to:
Mythical Ireland
80 Cedarfield
Donore Road
Drogheda
A92 HK7W
Ireland
Items sent without first contacting Mythical Ireland may be delayed or may not be identifiable.
Condition of returned products
You may inspect a product as you reasonably would in a shop. Returned products should otherwise be:
- unused and unwashed;
- free from damage, marks, odours or signs of wear;
- returned with any tags, certificates or accessories;
- and, where reasonably possible, returned in their original protective packaging.
Books should not be marked, written in or damaged.
Photographic prints should be returned with all supplied protective materials and certificates and must not have been mounted, framed, trimmed or altered.
Where handling beyond what is reasonably necessary has reduced the value of a returned product, an appropriate deduction may be made from the refund where permitted by law.
The absence of original external packaging will not automatically prevent a return, but customers must package returned items securely to prevent damage in transit.
Return postage
Unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise not as described, the customer is normally responsible for the direct cost of returning it.
We strongly recommend using a tracked or insured service, particularly for books, photographic prints and limited-edition products.
Mythical Ireland cannot accept responsibility for a returned item that is lost or damaged before it reaches us.
Where a product is faulty, damaged in transit or incorrectly supplied, Mythical Ireland will cover reasonable return costs or provide another suitable arrangement.
Original delivery charges
Where a return is made under an applicable statutory cancellation right, the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option originally offered will be refunded where required by law.
Any additional amount paid for express, premium or other enhanced delivery will not normally be refunded.
For voluntary returns made outside an applicable statutory cancellation right, original delivery charges are not normally refundable.
Customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges or administration fees paid directly to a customs authority, postal service or courier are not collected by Mythical Ireland and may need to be reclaimed separately from the relevant body.
2. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products
Please inspect your order after delivery and contact us as soon as possible if:
- the product is faulty;
- it arrives damaged;
- it is materially different from its description;
- part of the order is missing;
- or you receive the wrong item.
Contact mythicalireland@gmail.com and include:
- your name and order number;
- a description of the problem;
- and, where possible, clear photographs of the product and packaging.
Although prompt notification helps us investigate delivery damage, a failure to contact us immediately does not remove any statutory consumer rights.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, an appropriate remedy may include:
- repair;
- replacement;
- a proportionate reduction in price;
- or a full or partial refund.
Where a fault is reported within the applicable short-term rejection period, you may be entitled to reject the product and receive a refund.
These rights do not apply where the problem was caused by:
- misuse;
- accidental damage after delivery;
- failure to follow care instructions;
- or normal wear and tear.
3. Sale and discounted products
Products purchased during a sale or with a discount code have the same statutory consumer protections as products purchased at full price.
An eligible online change-of-mind return will not be refused solely because the product was discounted.
If a product was reduced because of a specific defect that was clearly disclosed before purchase, it cannot later be returned on the basis of that same disclosed defect. Any unrelated fault remains covered by applicable consumer law.
4. Products that cannot normally be returned for change of mind
An ordinary change-of-mind return may not be available for:
- products made to your individual specifications;
- clearly personalised products;
- signed or inscribed products personalised specifically for you;
- custom photographic print dimensions not offered as a standard option;
- products altered at your request;
- sealed products that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed;
- or any other product excluded from the statutory cancellation right by applicable law.
A product is not automatically treated as personalised merely because it was purchased in a standard size, colour or format offered to all customers.
These exclusions do not affect your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrectly supplied.
Contact us before ordering where you are unsure whether a product will be treated as personalised or custom-made.
5. Exchanges
We do not operate an automatic exchange system for physical products.
The quickest method is normally to:
- request a return for the original product;
- return it in accordance with this policy;
- and place a separate order for the replacement product.
Where the original product is faulty or incorrectly supplied, contact us before placing a replacement order so that we can arrange an appropriate remedy.
6. Live online courses
This section applies to live Zoom courses and other live online educational programmes supplied by Mythical Ireland.
Fourteen-day cancellation period
Where an applicable statutory cancellation right applies, you may cancel a live online course booking within 14 days of entering the contract, normally beginning on the date of purchase.
To cancel, email mythicalireland@gmail.com and include:
- your name;
- your order number;
- the name of the course;
- and a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
You do not need to give a reason when exercising an applicable statutory cancellation right.
Courses beginning within 14 days of booking
Where a course begins during your cancellation period, you may be asked to expressly request that Mythical Ireland begin supplying the live teaching, course materials, recordings or digital access before the cancellation period has ended.
If you cancel after part of the course or service has been supplied at your request, a proportionate amount reflecting the service already provided may be deducted where permitted by law.
Where a service has been fully supplied during the cancellation period with your prior express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may end.
Mythical Ireland’s additional voluntary cancellation policy
In addition to any statutory rights, Mythical Ireland will normally provide a full refund where a cancellation request is received at least seven calendar days before the first scheduled live class.
Where a cancellation request is received fewer than seven calendar days before the first class, and no statutory refund right applies, you may choose one of the following:
- transfer the booking to another person before the course begins; or
- receive credit equal to the course fee paid, valid for 12 months against another eligible Mythical Ireland online course.
Course credit:
- cannot be exchanged for cash;
- cannot normally be used for physical products, tours or third-party events;
- and must be used before its expiry date.
Any difference in price between the original course and a later course will remain payable.
After the first class begins
Once the first live class has begun, change-of-mind refunds will not normally be available unless required by law.
Refunds will not normally be provided because a participant:
- cannot attend one or more live classes;
- has work, family, travel or scheduling conflicts;
- miscalculates the Irish starting time in their location;
- experiences problems with their own internet connection, equipment, browser, email service or Zoom installation;
- does not open course emails;
- or does not watch the recordings during the advertised access period.
Where recordings are included, participants can use them to catch up on missed live sessions during the stated access period.
This does not affect any right to a remedy where the course is materially different from its description, is not supplied as agreed, or has a fault that Mythical Ireland does not remedy within a reasonable time.
Course recordings and materials
Course recordings, PDF notes, slides, links and private access details are supplied to the registered participant or permitted household only.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, participants may not:
- share login details or private links;
- copy or redistribute course recordings;
- record live classes independently;
- upload course content to another website or platform;
- resell course materials;
- or provide access to someone who has not purchased the course.
Unauthorised sharing or redistribution may result in access being suspended or withdrawn, subject to applicable law.
Participant privacy and recordings
Where a live class is recorded, participants will be informed.
Recordings will normally focus on the presenter, slides and teaching material. Participant contributions or identifying information may be edited or removed where appropriate.
Participants should avoid disclosing sensitive or private information during a recorded session.
7. Recorded courses and other digital content
This section applies to products supplied digitally, including:
- recorded courses;
- on-demand classes;
- downloadable videos or audio;
- e-books;
- PDF notes or handbooks;
- and other digital files or digital services.
Cancellation before digital supply begins
Where an applicable statutory cancellation right applies, you may cancel within 14 days of entering the contract, provided that supply of the digital content has not begun in circumstances that bring the cancellation right to an end.
Immediate access
Where immediate access is offered, you may be asked to:
- expressly consent to supply beginning before the end of the cancellation period;
- and acknowledge that your cancellation right may end once supply begins.
Once digital content has been downloaded, streamed, accessed or otherwise supplied following that express consent and acknowledgement, a change-of-mind refund will not normally be available.
This does not affect your rights where the digital content or service is faulty, unavailable, incompatible contrary to information supplied before purchase, or materially different from its description.
Technical requirements
Customers are responsible for checking any technical requirements stated on the product page, including:
- internet access;
- compatible devices;
- supported browsers;
- suitable software;
- and the ability to open ordinary video, audio or PDF files.
If you experience difficulty accessing digital content, contact mythicalireland@gmail.com so that we can investigate and, where possible, assist.
A refund will not normally be provided where the digital product is functioning correctly and the difficulty is caused solely by the customer’s device, internet service, unsupported software or failure to use the access instructions.
Where the problem lies with the Mythical Ireland platform or supplied digital product and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, an appropriate remedy will be offered in accordance with applicable law.
8. Tours, talks, workshops and dated in-person events
This section applies to tickets for tours, guided visits, talks, workshops, performances, one-day courses and other activities taking place on a specified date or during a specified period.
Any event-specific terms clearly shown on the relevant booking page will also apply. Where those terms conflict with mandatory consumer law, the mandatory legal rights will take precedence.
Customer cancellations
Unless the booking page states otherwise, Mythical Ireland’s voluntary cancellation terms are:
Fourteen or more calendar days before the event
A full refund may be requested.
Between seven and thirteen calendar days before the event
You may choose:
- a 50% refund;
- transfer of the booking to another person;
- or credit equal to the full amount paid, valid for 12 months against another eligible Mythical Ireland event.
Fewer than seven calendar days before the event
A cash refund will not normally be available.
You may transfer the booking to another person, provided you notify Mythical Ireland before the event begins. Course or event credit may be offered at Mythical Ireland’s discretion, depending on the circumstances and any costs already committed.
Non-attendance and late arrival
Refunds will not normally be provided for:
- failure to attend;
- arriving too late to participate;
- travel delays;
- inability to find the meeting location;
- personal scheduling difficulties;
- or failure to read the joining instructions.
Customers are responsible for checking the event date, starting time, meeting point, suitability requirements and any clothing or equipment advice before travelling.
Transfers
A booking may normally be transferred to another suitable participant before the event begins, provided Mythical Ireland is informed in writing.
For activities with age, fitness, health, safety or insurance requirements, the replacement participant must satisfy those requirements.
Outdoor events and weather
Outdoor events may proceed in light rain or other ordinary Irish weather conditions.
If an event proceeds as scheduled but a customer chooses not to attend because of the weather, the normal customer-cancellation terms apply.
If Mythical Ireland determines that weather or site conditions make an event unsafe or impractical, the event may be postponed, relocated or cancelled.
If Mythical Ireland cancels an event
If Mythical Ireland cancels an entire event and does not provide a suitable replacement, customers will be offered:
- a full refund of the ticket price;
- transfer to a replacement date;
- or credit, at the customer’s choice.
Mythical Ireland is not normally responsible for separate travel, accommodation, meals or other expenses incurred in connection with an event, except where required by law.
Postponement or rescheduling
If an event is moved to another reasonable date, customers will be offered access to the replacement event.
If the revised date is unsuitable, customers should contact Mythical Ireland promptly. Depending on the nature and extent of the change, a refund, transfer or credit may be offered.
If an entire course or event is significantly postponed, customers will be given the choice of retaining their booking or receiving a refund.
9. Gift cards
Gift cards cannot normally be exchanged for cash or refunded after they have been issued or used, except where required by law.
Where a gift card is purchased online and remains unused, any applicable statutory cancellation right will be honoured.
A refund for a purchase originally paid for with a gift card will normally be returned to a gift card or store-credit balance, unless the law requires another method.
This policy does not affect any statutory rules governing the validity or use of gift vouchers.
10. Refund processing
Where a refund is approved, it will normally be issued to the original payment method.
Where required by law, refunds will be processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after Mythical Ireland is informed of an eligible cancellation.
For physical-product returns, Mythical Ireland may withhold the refund until:
- the returned goods have been received;
- or the customer provides satisfactory evidence that the goods have been sent back,
whichever occurs first.
After Mythical Ireland issues a refund, your bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional time to display the transaction.
If you have been informed that a refund was issued and it has not appeared after 15 business days, contact mythicalireland@gmail.com.
11. Orders containing several types of product
Where an order contains more than one type of product—for example, a book and an online course—the relevant section of this policy applies separately to each item.
Cancelling one item does not automatically cancel the remainder of the order unless you clearly request cancellation of the complete order and are entitled to do so.

14. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any mandatory rights or remedies available to a consumer under applicable law.
Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory consumer right, the mandatory consumer right will apply.
