On the morning of 31 July 2026, I flew my drone above the Boyne Valley at sunrise.

A dense layer of mist had settled along the River Boyne, winding through the ancient landscape of Brú na Bóinne. As the sun rose above the valley, the mist began to glow, partly veiling the monuments and fields below. Even the great mound associated with the Dagda seemed to emerge only faintly from the morning haze.

It was one of those rare moments when a familiar landscape seemed completely transformed.

I have chosen this photograph to mark a very special milestone for Mythical Ireland – the Facebook page reaching 100,000 followers.

A strictly limited edition of 100

Only 100 signed and individually numbered fine-art prints of New Light on the Boyne will be produced as part of this commemorative edition.

Each print will be:

  • printed on heavyweight archival fine-art paper
  • supplied with a matching Certificate of Authenticity
  • produced at approximately 70 × 39 cm image size on 76 × 51 cm paper
