Kerb stone 67 is one of just three lavishly decorated slabs on the exterior belt of perimeter stones around Newgrange. Along with kerb 1 and kerb 52, it is part of the incredible gallery of art from this 5,000-year-old monument. The main motifs on the stone consist of a double or connected pair of clockwise spirals, with a single lozenge above and a double nested lozenge below. On the left of the stone are a series of picked lozenges and trianges, leaving something of a lattice pattern. This being one of my favourite of all the decorated Irish megalithic stones, I incorporated the twin spirals and lozenges into the logo for Mythical Ireland.
